Create your API key

Sign in to ResumeQuick, open Profile → API Keys, click "Create key", give it a name (e.g. "Claude Desktop on laptop"). Copy the rq_live_… token — it's shown once.

Paste the snippet into your client

Pick your client below and copy the config. The same snippet works for Claude Desktop, Claude Code, and any other AI client that supports MCP (Codex, Cursor, and more).

Restart your client and ask away

Restart Claude Desktop (or reload your client). Open a new chat and ask anything that needs your real career data — Claude will reach for the right data on its own.

Privacy, cost, and how the connection works.

Only what you've put into ResumeQuick: your resume(s), the vacancies you've analyzed, your interview results, and a chronological activity feed. Claude can read this data and, when you ask, update it — edit and tailor your resumes and create new versions. Your password and account settings are never exposed.

Yes. Authentication uses a personal API key (Bearer token over HTTPS) tied only to your account. Keys are scoped, revocable from your profile at any time, and never accepted via query string or cookie.

The MCP server itself is free for ResumeQuick users on any plan. Your Claude Desktop / Claude Code / Codex subscription is separate — that's billed by Anthropic / OpenAI directly.

Yes — Claude can edit and tailor your resumes and create new versions. It can't send messages or emails, and it can't touch your password or account settings. Your MCP client (Claude Desktop or Claude Code) shows each action and asks you to approve it before it runs, so you stay in control.
